Blanc is a bank for entrepreneurs. The bank aimed to attract higher customer balances by offering an innovative product that would allow clients to earn interest on their accounts by trading their balances overnight. I was tasked with designing “Overnight”.

The bank was behind competitors in offering passive income opportunities for customers. There was urgency to create a product that would allow users to earn interest overnight on balances in their accounts. Additionally, the challenge was to integrate this new product into the existing “Streams” feature, where users could create virtual accounts (e.g., a “dream piggy bank”) and manage them easily.

To better understand the product’s potential, I conducted interviews with the product manager and engaged in ongoing discussions with the design team. This collaboration helped streamline the design process and eliminate blockers early on, ensuring a smooth design review phase.

This process was visually communicated to the user through a status called “Money is placed.” Users could withdraw or deposit money again after the overnight process completed at 5:00 AM the following day.
